How to prepare a lighting project brief

The installation details that help turn a product enquiry into a focused technical conversation.

Describe the site before selecting a fixture

Provide the application, dimensions, mounting positions and access constraints. For aquatic systems add water depth; for planted areas add canopy height. Drawings and clear photos can show conditions that a product name cannot.

Make exposure conditions explicit

Explain humidity, salt exposure, splashing and any immersion requirement. IEC 60529 classifies enclosure protection; a rating must be checked for the exact product and use. A wet environment alone does not establish that a fixture is suitable for immersion.

Include electrical and control information

State the available supply and the required control interface. If the project includes show lighting, explain the control system and the intended coordination. Do not assume every fixture in a family has the same configuration.

Keep the purchasing scope clear

List the model or application, approximate quantity, destination and intended schedule. Confirm the configuration and commercial terms with Lumini before placing an order.
